The strongest case for it
Residual inflammatory risk is real, and at least one major trial showed that reducing inflammation directly lowers cardiovascular events independently of lipids.
What it leaves out
hs-CRP is extraordinarily reactive to transient events. A cold, a dental cleaning, a hard training session, or a poor night's sleep can multiply it several-fold. A sub-0.5 target measured from a single draw is close to meaningless, and it sells a great many supplements.
